zmq.socket is not a function

I installed zeromq in Raspberry Pi. And when I run the nodejs example for zeromq it gives error as:
TypeError: zmq.socket is not a function.

I fixed this problem using the 5 version

npm i zeromq@5

Same issue for me. On Windows10 + electron 8.0.0

Have rebuilt using npm rebuild zeromq --runtime=electron --target=8.0.0

ZeroMQ version 6.0.0-beta.6

Didn't work.
