I was just using visual thesaurus and was really appreciating how mousing over a node and a quick/simple popup would let me know the content of the nodes--allowed for quick browsing of info--looking for the info I needed.
Something like this would do the same for fle4. Doesn't need to show the nice layout as when one clicks on a note and the pop up box shows, just something quick with basic info, maybe not even have color backing, just the text. Not sure how to negotiate this browse use-case with when someone (based on the browsing) wants to create a note.
This option, however, might be too annoying since the notes are potentially big.
