not registering key presses

hello , awesome project!

im using freebsd and compiled it with gnu make.
it does opens and displays the graphical interface, but it does not respond to the keyboard

ive followed the steps on the wikipage on running freebsd inside RVVM, it just boots normally and goes to login, and i cant type anything

the host and the guest are both freebsd, im not using wayland tho.
is there anything i can read or check in order to solve this?

I don't think FreeBSD guest has proper drivers for I2C-HID input devices that RVVM currently emulates. These devices do work in various Linux distros, and in Haiku built from X512's development tree.
The same problem persists in EFI firmware: U-Boot and EDK2 don't support I2C-HID either, so you can't type over keyboard GUI in U-Boot or EFI GRUB, etc.

There is work in progress to support XHCI USB3 controller + USB-HID input devices (Like usual USB mice/keyboard found on desktop PCs). But this is not yet complete, as for now USB existence in the VM was only justified for "I wanna make mouse/keyboard work somewhere outside Linux/Haiku guests" and it's somewhat complicated.

For FreeBSD I personally just used serial console over host terminal, and SSH via port-forwarded network: -portfwd 2022=22
Not long ago, FreeBSD didn't even have EFI graphical console in generic RISC-V images, so all I saw on the GUI window was the last frame shown by EFI bootloader before the FreeBSD kernel took over. This is probably a FreeBSD-16 addition and is very welcome.
