Compatibility report: 8cx Gen 3 + Windows 11 ARM64 build 26200.8875 — only v2 NoGApps works
Posting this because the existing crash issue (#710) only covers Snapdragon X Elite / build 26100, and I want to share data from a different platform (Qualcomm 8cx Gen 3, Windows 11 ARM64 26200.8875, zh-CN UI) plus which combination actually runs.
Test matrix (WSA 2407.40000.4.0, all ARM64 builds from this repo)
WsaClient.execrashes ~130 s after launch, 0xc0000409Crash signature (the failing builds)
Same signature as #710. The crash is related to the GApps images: on this machine any build containing Google Play services mirrors crashes, the NoGApps variant does not. This matches zoinve's note in #710 that v2 NoGApps is the only working combination.
What works on v2 NoGApps (verified)
Install.ps1registers the package cleanly (after fixing the packaging defects, see the packaging issue I opened).vmmemWSAreaches ~2–3 GB,adb connect 127.0.0.1:58526works with developer mode enabled.adb installworks; native arm64-v8a apps run fine (tested: bilibili HD tablet APK — installs, launches, window renders on the desktop).ro.build.version.release= 13, ABIarm64-v8a.Performance caveat
Interaction is noticeably laggy on this 8-core 8cx Gen 3 machine (15.4 GB RAM) compared to x86_64 emulators like MuMu. Running WSA and MuMu at the same time is painful — both VMs fight for CPU/RAM (
vmmemWSA~3 GB +vmmemNemu~1.2 GB plus system overhead). If you need Google services or smooth UI, an x86_64 emulator is a better experience on 8cx Gen 3; if you just need a few arm64-native apps and no Google, v2 NoGApps is a solid free option.Takeaways for maintainers
