So in order to satisfy the new file format upload requirements (wav -> flac), it seems like one would need to:

1. Make sure the mcguirepr89 fork installation is updated.
2. Login to the raspberry-pi
3. Migrate to the Nachtzuster fork installation using these commands:
   a) git remote remove origin
   b) git remote add origin https://github.com/Nachtzuster/BirdNET-Pi.git
   c) ./scripts/update_birdnet.sh
4. Update the Nachtzuster fork installation

Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes, that sounds good.

Ok after migrating it looks like the raspberry-pi based birdnet-pi is showing on the birdweather app again, however the data from July 18, 2025 to August 20, 2025 is not there if those dates are selected in the birdweather interface. The data appears to be in the birdnet-pi. I'm assuming this will be lost data for the birdweather integration?

[Svardsten53]

Yes, files are sent to BirdWeather immediately when they are created and no old files can be sent.

Colleagues, hello!
My station has disappeared from the Birdweather map. I wrote to support and received a response:

1. I recently noticed that my station has been running for 2 years and has
stopped displaying on the BirdWeather website map. I checked the API
key, everything matches the keys from the Personal Account. All updates
are from BirdNet-Pi. What could be the problem? Should I delete my
   station and register it again?
2. We made a change on July 17th 2025 -- we are no longer accepting the (much larger) WAV format soundscapes as they were costing us a small fortune to store on AWS -- we now only accept FLAC format audio files. If you post to the Github Discussion forum for the repository that you're using, you should be able to get assistance on what is needed to get things updated.
I’m ashamed! If it’s not too much trouble, could you please explain in more detail what and where needs to be fixed, or would it be better to reinstall the system completely?
