I've got a Chargehub and haven't seen the same issue. That's not to say the charger is flawless, it has a lot of software bugs that I have been annoying MG to fix. Your firmware is old, get this one of this page, https://mgmotor.com.au/charge-hub-support/ Here is a snip of my settings, so if anything looks vastly different. |

Do you have the latest firmware on your charger? I think it is: 1.0.8b1.0.8. It fixed a problem
where charging the car would do pretty much what you describe.
I must admit sofar I haven't thought about moving on from ChargeHQ. And it neatly solved a problem I
had with running my own OCPP server so haven't thought about it for some time. My EV is at my
daughter's at present so can't test any ideas until it returns.

Was there anything else you needed to configure in your automation to get it to start charging?
Mine will start charging and then 4 seconds later report SuspendedEVSE. If I adjust the charging
current, it will start charging again for 4 seconds before stopping.
It did work perfectly with ChargeHQ, but I have to migrate away as they are turning off the
service in September 2026.

I'm still running latest on mine, personally I thought the latest 1.0.8x was a step backwards, on mine at least you can't suspend the Ev charging by switching to 0A max anymore. It kept sending me a rejected message if I try and restart the charging from SuspendedEVSE state. To work around I need to stop the charging and then start it again. Asked MG Australia how to downgrade but they said not possible and they've basically now abandoned the unit. So it still works ok but I've got a lot of work arounds in automations to address software defects. |

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
Hi, I have imported this OCPP package into Home Assistant and used it with my MG Charge Hub. It is version 1.0.0.0.7b107_MG. Everything displays well, and the Reset button works, however I can't get it to update any settings. The 2 examples I've tried are:
Setting the charging power - I simply can't see what to update to do this (sliding the Maximum current slider doesn't seem to do anything)
Remotely stopping Charging. Just about anything I try, like changing the charge control toggle gets an error that says: 'Fail to call service homeassistant/turn_off. ProtocolError: Payload for Action is incomplete, {'cause': "'transactionID' is a required property"}
This error message may be from testing some other setting, but ProtocolError: Payload for Action is incomplete, {'cause': "'transactionID' is a required property"} seems to be common to each thing I have tried.
Please advise either any other testing that would be helpful, or how I can remotely set the charging current. (Setting the current through the MG supplied web page does work, but I can't figure out how to automate it to maximise my solar consumption) I have created a helper that tells me the current I want to tell the charger to supply.
