This agreement is between you, the person submitting a Contribution ("You"), and Alexander Berg ("Wehrwolfmann", github.com/wehrwolfmann), the project maintainer, and his successors and assigns (the "Maintainer"). It is modelled on the Apache Individual Contributor License Agreement v2.2 and the Harmony/Canonical license-grant agreements. It is a license, not a transfer of copyright: You keep the copyright in Your work.
"Contribution" means any work of authorship (code, documentation, translations, images or other material), including later changes to it, that You intentionally submit to the Project, for example as a pull request, patch or issue attachment. "Project" means the repository named above and any work the Maintainer bases on it.
You grant the Maintainer a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute and sublicense Your Contributions and such derivative works, in any form and by any means.
The Maintainer may license and distribute Your Contributions, as part of the Project or separately, under any terms he chooses, open source or proprietary, free of charge or commercially, including licenses other than the one the Project uses today. The Maintainer may transfer this agreement and the rights granted in it to any third party, for example when the Project is sold or handed over.
You grant the Maintainer and recipients of software distributed by the Maintainer a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable (except as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import and otherwise transfer the Project. This license applies only to patent claims licensable by You that are necessarily infringed by Your Contribution alone or by its combination with the Project. If anyone starts patent litigation (including a cross-claim or counterclaim) alleging that Your Contribution or the Project infringes a patent, the patent licenses granted to that party under this agreement for that Contribution or Project end on the date the litigation is filed.
You keep the copyright and authorship of Your Contributions and may use them yourself for any purpose, under any license. The Maintainer is not obliged to accept or use any Contribution.
You confirm that:
- each Contribution is Your original work, or You otherwise have the right to submit it under this agreement;
- if Your employer or anyone else has rights in what You create, You have their permission to make the Contribution under this agreement, or they have waived those rights;
- if any part of a Contribution is not Your original work, You mark it clearly and name its source, author and license, together with any restriction You know of;
- You will tell the Maintainer if any of the above stops being true.
Unless required by applicable law, You provide Your Contributions "AS IS", without warranties or conditions of any kind, and You are not expected to provide support for them.
You accept this agreement by posting a comment with the exact text "I agree to the CLA" on Your pull request; the CLA bot then records Your GitHub account. Your acceptance covers that Contribution and all Your future Contributions to this repository. Contributions without it are not merged.
