🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Python 3.8+
• pip (Python package manager)
• Git

Installation

1. Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/Ambicalanka/-Crime-Shield-Alert-Map.git
cd "Crime Shield Alert Map"

2. Create a virtual environment

# Windows
python -m venv .venv
.venv\Scripts\activate

# macOS/Linux
python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate

3. Install dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

4. Initialize the database

python setup_db.py

5. Run the application

python app.py

6. Open in browser Navigate to: http://localhost:5000

📱 Usage

For Regular Users:

1. Go to Home Page to view crime statistics
2. Click "Report Crime" to submit a crime incident
3. Use "Route Safety" to check travel safety between zones
4. View "Live Alerts" for real-time crime notifications
5. Check "Crime Dashboard" for detailed analytics

For Administrators:

1. Login at /admin_login with admin credentials
2. Access Admin Dashboard to manage:
   • Add/Edit/Delete zones
   • Add/View crimes
   • Manage user accounts
3. View Crime Statistics and trends
