✨ Highlights

🔍 GDB-Style Disassembly View

The debugger now renders a compiled workflow graph the way GDB renders machine code — an address-mapped instruction sequence with segments instead of an indentation tree.

segment [root]:
=>[0] (top) ALIAS top; alias for Alpha
  [1]       CALL top -> [0]; CallNode
  [2] *segment [2]
  [3] JMP [0]; GOTO 'top'
  [4] NOP; no operation

segment [2]: [2, 0] JMPIF then=#3 else=+3; ConditionJumpNode [2, 1] Cond; Cond

  • dis(inter, *, around=5) prints a window of instructions around the program counter; pass around=None for the whole graph, or use disassemble() to get the same text as a string.
  • => marks the program counter, exactly like GDB. Nested containers appear as *segment [n] reference lines and get their own block, so deep graphs stay flat.
  • step(), step_over(), step_out() and cont() print the listing automatically at every stop. Silence it globally with code_disp.AUTO_DIS = False.
  • Colourised output through colorama when stdout is a terminal (force with code_disp.COLOR = True/False). Colour is applied after column padding, so it never shifts the instruction column.
  • Operand notation mirrors the pointer operations: [1, 0] (absolute, far_to), [#3](https://github.com/AmritaBot/AmritaSense/issues/3) (slot in the node's own segment, near_to), +2 / -1 (delta inside the segment, offset).
  • Contract-safe: the listing walks the AbstractCompose contract rather than concrete classes, so a DLLComposeProxy or custom rendered graph works — an unbuilt container is shown as (unreadable) instead of aborting the listing.

🏷️ Self-Describing Instructions: __sdb_dis__ / __sdb_cmt__

Nodes can now describe their own line in a listing through two soft-constraint magic attributes:

Attribute Effect
__sdb_dis__ The mnemonic shown in the instruction column.
__sdb_cmt__ When not None, overrides the comment after ; (defaults to the node tag).

Three declaration forms are supported, all resolved through a plain getattr at disassembly time:

  • Class attribute — a fixed mnemonic shared by every instance.
  • @property — a value derived from instance state. It re-reads on every listing, so nothing needs re-assigning after a recompile; the property is a data descriptor, which is what keeps the value single-sourced.
  • Instance attribute — for factory-created instructions whose operand only exists inside a closure (PUSH_STACK, INTERRUPT_INTO, …).

The built-in instruction set now annotates itself throughout: JMP, CALL, CALL.FAR, PUSH, JMPIF, WHILE, DO, TRY, FN, EVENT, BATCH, and the native fast-path set NJMPIF / NWHILE / NDO.CHECK / NENTER.

⏸️ Breakpoint Resume Semantics Fixed

A breakpoint stops execution before its node runs. Previously, the middleware re-checked breakpoints at the same address before the node had executed, so cont() re-hit the same breakpoint forever and could never make progress. The debugger now remembers the address it stopped on (resume_at) so the next cont() executes that node and moves on:

>>> cont(inter) # runs everything up to 'my_node', stops before it
</tr></table>

OK, I won't notify you again about this release, but will get in touch when a new version is available. If you'd rather skip all updates until the next major or minor version, let me know by commenting @dependabot ignore this major version or @dependabot ignore this minor version. You can also ignore all major, minor, or patch releases for a dependency by adding an ignore condition with the desired update_types to your config file.

If you change your mind, just re-open this PR and I'll resolve any conflicts on it.
