**Limitation — MCP tools:** the schema coercion supports a fixed JSON-Schema subset and rejects unknown keywords such as `$ref`. Atomic's built-in tools are fine, but MCP tools that ship a draft-07 `inputSchema` with `$ref` (or other unsupported keywords) will fail coercion and remain prose. MCP + tagged Qwen is therefore unsupported for now.

Windows: proxy for cloud providers (cmd / PowerShell)

Node's built-in `fetch` — which every cloud LLM/search provider uses — ignores
`HTTP_PROXY` / `HTTPS_PROXY` unless the process is started with the
`--use-env-proxy` flag. On Windows set that flag via `NODE_OPTIONS` in the same
shell you launch Atomic from:

**cmd:**
```bat
set NODE_OPTIONS=--use-env-proxy
set HTTP_PROXY=http://user:pass@proxy.example.com:8080
set HTTPS_PROXY=http://user:pass@proxy.example.com:8080
set NO_PROXY=localhost,127.0.0.1,::1
atomic-agent run
```

**PowerShell:**
```powershell
$env:NODE_OPTIONS = "--use-env-proxy"
$env:HTTP_PROXY = "http://user:pass@proxy.example.com:8080"
$env:HTTPS_PROXY = "http://user:pass@proxy.example.com:8080"
$env:NO_PROXY = "localhost,127.0.0.1,::1"
atomic-agent run
```

Notes:

- Only **HTTP/HTTPS** proxies are supported. Node's `fetch` does not understand
a `socks5://` proxy URL and will fail with `fetch failed`.
- `NO_PROXY` keeps local endpoints (e.g. a local `llama-server` on
`127.0.0.1:8080`) off the proxy.
- The variables must be set in the same shell that launches the agent; they do
not persist between sessions.
- Web search tools shell out to `curl`, which reads the same `HTTP_PROXY` /
`HTTPS_PROXY` / `NO_PROXY` environment variables on its own.
