Description

Adds error resilience and exception-handling test coverage for components/dashboard/AIInsightsSkeleton.tsx through the new test file components/dashboard/AIInsightsSkeleton.error-resilience.test.tsx.

Changes

  • Added tests simulating unexpected runtime exceptions from nested child components.
  • Mocked asynchronous service failures and data retrieval errors to validate graceful error handling.
  • Verified the component is protected by localized error boundaries and does not crash the application.
  • Tested that runtime exceptions are reported to telemetry or logging utilities.
  • Confirmed recovery interfaces expose reset or reload actions for users after failures.

Test Coverage

Implemented 5 test cases covering:

  1. Rendering fallback UI when a nested child component throws an unexpected exception.
  2. Graceful handling of mocked service or data-loading failures.
  3. Error boundary behavior preventing application-wide crashes during hydration and rendering.
  4. Exception logging to development telemetry or error tracking mechanisms.
  5. Availability of user recovery actions such as reset or reload from the fallback UI.

Validation

  • All tests pass successfully with vitest run.
  • Runtime failures are fully mocked in isolated test scenarios.
  • No production code changes required.

Fixes #7034

Hey! Thanks for adding error resilience coverage to AIInsightsSkeleton. Making sure our layout boundaries catch runtime crashes in child skeletons prevents cascading failures.

I'm assigning level:beginner, type:testing, and quality:clean.

Nice, approving!
