What version of the app are you using? Are other providers working? For example, try FanMTL. Could you try clearing the cache and then retrying?

I'm using the latest version 3.7.8 and the fanmtl still behaves the same way when I'm trying to search for novels using keywords. I've tried clearing cache but it still doesn't work

The problem with wuxiabox and fanmtl is that the domain sometimes doesn't respond, and it's a problem with this website. What I do is check via browser or wait a few minutes (several, actually) and try again.
