What changed
OpenCode idle events now complete a turn only after the session confirms that command and assistant work has settled. Both
session.status(idle)andsession.idleremain non-terminal while a command is running, and an unavailable quiescence check keeps the task active rather than failing open.Regression coverage verifies both idle event variants, normal completion after the command settles, and the verification-failure path.
Why this change was made
A stale OpenCode idle event could previously mark an active task idle and start its sandbox sleep countdown while a long-running command was still executing.
Impact
Tasks continue to show as active and retain their active execution deadline while commands run. The normal idle state and sleep countdown begin only after the current work has actually settled.
