I want to share this as additional information, that might hopefully help some others. This may largely be anecdotal, so not sure if these are things that should be properly integrated to the original guide, but regardless these tweaks gave me a better and more stable end result. For reference, I have a Huion Kamvas 22 Plus.
- I used Proton through Lutris, mainly out of preference. Proton through Bottles might also work.
- Notes for
sai2.ini:
AlwaysUseTabletPcApi = no (try yes if using Wacom)AvoidWacomBug = yes (necessary, should be given more importance in the original guide)
- I also set "Minimum Pressure" to 1%, instead of the default 0%. May or may not be necessary.
- Regular WinTab API, as the guide says, but try Windows API if using Wacom.
Other than that, I followed the guide and had pen pressure working.
I went for Lutris since Bottles has personally been extremely inconsistent. Proton as the runner, on the other hand, might improve performance, and overall behaves quite nicely. Soda runner in Bottles also worked for me at one point, but caffe did not; some trial and error is always good.
