Doesn't work after reboot

When I start up the computer and plug in the charger after logging in it starts charging the battery even if it shouldn't. This is even if I set the app to open on login. For some reason when I manually open the app it does stop charging as expected. I'm running Sonoma 14.8.9 with a 14" M3 MacBook Pro.
