Other people are also hooking the Arduino to the CAN Bus. This is nice for a bunch of things:

  1. Add comfort functions, like "press the blinker just once, blink three times" or auto unfolding of the mirrors
  2. Send text to the CEMs display
  3. Get button presses (for RTI equipped cars) and use them as input to an attached RPi

I don't feel like adding all this in the near future, but I keep this in mind.
