Runs tox (py39-py312) on latest Linux(Ubuntu)/macOS/Windows for every PR via GitHub Actions, caching downloaded model weights across runs. Add dependabot.yml for uv and github-actions dependency bumps, grouped and monthly, with dev/notebook deps grouped separately to mirror the repo's existing alert auto-triage rules in the git settings online. Add passenv = FIT_* to tox.ini so FIT_CACHE_DIR/FIT_RUN_WEIGHT_DOWNLOAD_TESTS reach the isolated test envs.
…ound hangs macOS's uv sync --extra dev was picking up the runner's default Python 3.14, which torch 2.6.0 has no wheels for; pin --python 3.12 for that step. Windows hung for 5h+ in test_plot_quality because plt.show() opened a real Tkinter mainloop there (unlike Linux/macOS CI, which has no GUI backend to fall back to); force MPLBACKEND=Agg and pass it through tox's passenv. Add timeout-minutes to bound any future hang, and let the windows-latest leg fail without blocking merges until it's proven stable again.
tox rejected 'FIT_* MPLBACKEND' as a single invalid token; needs a comma.

All three OSes (ubuntu/macos/windows) passed cleanly across two consecutive push-triggered runs. Keep pull_request: branches: [main] only, so CI runs as the release gate rather than on every dev commit.
