Todo count inside Done/Doing tabs

What about displaying how many notes are due/done inside the category view? I tried to illustrate how I imagine this, based on the pin icon’s outline.

Technical aspects:

• these labels should update on each task state change (todo check/uncheck)
• avoid box overflow if the user gathers an absurd amount of todos in a category (don’t use rectangles if this becomes problematic)

Oh man, I didn't expect you to make it it even more beautiful. I don't see any major bugs, but I will indeed provide you with my feedback.

Bright color category labels are barely visible in light theme:

This Good Start card takes so much space I can see only 3 categories without scrolling. Category cards are also bulkier, and while all the other screens look fine and cool on my Galaxy S25, Categories is a bit too buffy.

It makes me wonder if it's necessary to keep the top headers, as you also have a bottom navigation bar. But on the other side this is how the ToDark always looked and was somewhat unique.. Idk. I'm sure there's a need for more space on this screen.

Tapping the tag rectangle in a todo list can be used to trigger search for all tasks having this tag – but this will require a tag-limited search option. Like you need to search for tasks being tagged #gym, but don't need to show todos with "gym" in title/description (now you can't specify to search only for todos with #gym, but skip 'gym' text in title/description). Something for a separate feature request ticket I guess (there's a potential to also expand it to priority labels, and tapping it would navigate to the All Todos screen and show only High priority tasks), but I'd probably forget about it in a moment.

Done/Archive tabs show the FAB again, idk if it's intended.

Also I'd advise you to take a fresh look at creation/edition tabs, I think you can think about decluttering it a bit here. Like the "Basic Information" header is rather okay (I'd rename it to maybe "Details"), the rest is redundant.

Even if you type in text, the placeholder moves above, I see the 'Name' not necessary here. It's the same for categories and other tasks-related tabs.

There are probably a few little tweaks I would recommend but I'm tired now, I'll maybe reach to you later (like settings dropdown lists don't look like sorting, but I think you just didn't get to this point yet). Thanks for thinking about me, appreciate it! I'm amazed by your work, I couldn't ever imagine you can improve your app that much. Like.. It looked great before, now it's on the way to reach the design highs.

I fixed the dimensions and removed unnecessary labels.
I'll think about how to do it over the page titles, because there are still buttons there.
FAB corrected it, it was a bug.
The light theme and settings are still in the works.

Just tested, Categories tab looks much better now in my opinion. I like how clean it is now, also the add/edit dialog is much more organized. You are right, headers must stay. But now it's all fine.

I encountered small problems with FAB. It randomly disappeared a few times to me (in active tab, not expected), and I found a way to trigger it in Done/Archive tabs:

Well.. There are a few smaller things I'd suggest such as further improvements to add/edit dialogs, like making the Done button smaller or even place it as a small icon in the corner of dialog header (when keyboard is opened, idk if possible) because it's a bit limiting to have so little view in here, at least on my 6.2 inch screen.

Interesting. Is this something internal or you're cooking some major changes to the app? I noticed a few more things to improve/fix and wonder if it's be still relevant in this case. Also, is this a matter of weeks, months?

I'm just improving the structure of the code, nothing global, I think I'll manage in a couple of weeks. Suggestions for improvement are always relevant.

Sure, the app changed a lot in the past few months and I imagine there's a bunch of obsolete code you might want to sort out. I hate such dirty work tbh, haha.

I have made a list of small things you may want to fix and simple ideas based on my recent experiences with the latest build, but will wait for the update first as you might've caught some before me.

I feel the app is now much more usable than a few months ago, really. Subtasks and sorting are probably my favs, thx again for your work!

Hi! I'll be getting back to work on the application starting Monday. During the holidays, I've been exploring new technologies and architectural approaches to improve the app. The current codebase relies heavily on libraries that are no longer maintained, so it's time to address that technical debt. I've also been testing out AI to see if they can help streamline my workflow.

Thats cool, man! Wish I had so much will to learn all this stuff uhh. I can only cross my fingers it won't be too much for you to lose interest in the project. I'll describe another improvement ideas from my list later this week.
