A standard ERC20 token built using Solidity and OpenZeppelin, featuring secure token transfers, allowance management, minting, and burning functionality.
This project is designed following industry best practices and is suitable for learning, testing, and real-world deployment.
- ERC20 standard compliance
- Token transfer between accounts
- Allowance system (
approve&transferFrom) - Owner-restricted minting
- Token burning to reduce supply
- Built with OpenZeppelin libraries
- Compatible with Remix, Hardhat, and Foundry
- Deployable on testnets and mainnet
Users can transfer tokens to any Ethereum-compatible address using the standard ERC20 transfer mechanism.
Token holders can authorize another address (such as a DEX or smart contract) to spend tokens on their behalf.
Functions involved:
- Approve spending
- Check allowance
- Transfer tokens using allowance
The contract owner has the ability to mint new tokens. This is useful for:
- Rewards
- Airdrops
- Staking incentives
- Controlled supply expansion
Any token holder can burn (destroy) their own tokens, permanently reducing the total supply. This is commonly used for:
- Deflationary mechanics
- Fee burning
- Supply control
- The contract uses an ownership model
- Only the owner can mint new tokens
- Ownership is assigned at deployment
- Ownership can be transferred if required
- Solidity (version ^0.8.x)
- OpenZeppelin Contracts
- Remix IDE (for development & testing)
- MetaMask (for wallet interaction)
The contract can be tested using:
- Remix JavaScript VM
- Injected Provider (MetaMask)
- Ethereum test networks (e.g., Sepolia)
Test cases include:
- Token transfers
- Balance checks
- Allowance approval and usage
- Minting restrictions
- Burn functionality
The token can be deployed on:
- Local development networks
- Ethereum testnets
- Ethereum mainnet
After deployment, the token can be:
- Added to MetaMask
- Integrated with dApps
- Used on decentralized exchanges
- Smart contract source files
- Configuration files
- Deployment-ready setup
- Documentation (this README)
- Minting is restricted to the owner
- Uses battle-tested OpenZeppelin libraries
- Always review and audit before mainnet deployment
- Avoid exposing owner private keys
