Summary

2.2.4 ships the #247 fix. Bounded queries asked TypeDB to stream one answer per batch; with that prefetch, closing a transaction after a client stopped reading a paused stream could deadlock the server. The close never completed, the transaction never timed out, and the database stayed "in use" until TypeDB restarted. Bounded queries now request two answers per batch.

Key changes

  • Advance the coordinated Python, Node, Rust, CLI and server identities from 2.2.3 to 2.2.4 (pyproject, crate manifests, package.json and lock, release inventory, codegen templates).
  • Select the C release policy as .github/release/c-2.2.4.json, regenerated by scripts/ci/c_release_policy.py; advance release.yml, c-release.yml, release validators, unit tests and maintainer docs.
  • Regenerate Cargo locks (first-party path versions only), the npm lock, native THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES (cargo-about 0.9.1, Rust 1.94.1), Node/Rust binding projection fingerprints in the SDK catalogs, and the dependent C distribution and broad-case ledger digests.
  • CHANGELOG: move the fix(runtime): stop bounded queries from wedging TypeDB on close #247 Fixed entry into ## [2.2.4] - 2026-10-08.
  • C ABI 1.6.0, the generated C example archive, and the 2.2.3 changelog, install guidance and verification records are unchanged.

Verification

  • cargo test -p type-bridge-typedb-runtime (non-live): pass
  • cargo test -p type-bridge-schema-codegen --test sdk_v3_fingerprints --test rust_emitter --test typescript_emitter: pass
  • cargo +stable clippy --all-targets -- -D warnings (workspace): pass
  • uv run pytest tests/unit: 2855 passed
  • npm run dts:parity: 9 declaration files match the baseline
  • uv run --extra docs mkdocs build --strict: pass
  • Read-only release candidate dispatched on this branch (release.yml, release_channel=candidate)

Advance the coordinated Python, Node, Rust, CLI and server identities
to 2.2.4 so the patch ships the #247 fix: bounded queries request two
answers per batch, so closing a paused stream can no longer deadlock
TypeDB and leave its database in use until the server restarts. Select
the matching C release policy as .github/release/c-2.2.4.json,
regenerated by scripts/ci/c_release_policy.py, and advance the release
and c-release workflows, release validators, tests and maintainer docs.

Regenerate generated artifacts from their canonical producers:

- Workspace and consumer Cargo locks; only first-party path versions
change, and the workspace lock resolves offline with --locked.
- The npm lock with npm install --package-lock-only.
- Native notices with generate_native_dependency_notice.py
  (cargo-about 0.9.1, Rust 1.94.1).
- Node and Rust binding projection fingerprints from the
sdk_v3_fingerprints inventory outputs, and the dependent C
distribution and broad-case ledger authority digests.

Third-party lock records are unchanged. The C ABI 1.6.0 distribution
matrix and generated C example archive are preserved, and the 2.2.3
changelog, installation guidance and verification records are kept as
released.
