"Why pull in 200MB of node_modules when you can compile down to a single bare-metal binary and render HTML over the wire?"
Minimal UI for searching and downloading via yt-dlp. (Only for content you legally own, obviously...) Built with the holy trinity of web performance: Axum, htmx, and Askama. It delivers 100% Rust-native performance without the bloat of modern npm dependency hell.
- Axum — Eradicating runtime overhead with Tokio's hyper-async ecosystem.
- htmx — React and Vue are legacy tech. Locality of Behavior (LoB) over WebSocket/HTTP swaps.
- Askama — Type-safe, compiled HTML templates. If your HTML fails to compile, your build fails. As it should be.
- Bulma — Pure CSS. Zero JavaScript runtime bloat.
- yt-dlp — The engine under the hood.
First, create a .env file. See the .env.example file.
Then, run the following commands to download the static assets:
# htmx
curl -o static/htmx.min.js https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/htmx.org@2.0.10/dist/htmx.min.js
# Bulma CSS
curl -o static/bulma.min.css https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bulma@1.0.4/css/bulma.min.css
# SSE
curl -L -o static/sse.js https://unpkg.com/htmx-ext-sse@2.2.1/sse.js
