Environment details

  1. API: Maps SDK for Android
  2. Android 17 (API Level 37)
  3. Latest

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create and launch an Android 17 (API 37) emulator.
  2. Build and run the example project on this emulator.
  3. Tap the "Toggle Dark Mode" button in the sample app.
  4. Observe that the map styling does not update to reflect the dark mode theme.

    I can investigate this. The sample starts at FOLLOW_SYSTEM but the first toggle always selects DARK, so on an already-dark device the first tap produces no visible change. I plan to make the sample toggle the currently effective scheme and add focused regression coverage, while leaving the Maps SDK/Compose API unchanged.
