I am trying to hack a Lain ROM for the purpose of replacing the audio and video files with new ones that have English audio tracks, but I am having trouble finding a way to convert the new files back to STR and XA, if you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. I also need help with figuring out how the files on the game itself would need to be edited/changed to ensure proper playback.
jPSXdec's GUI is designed to deal only with the extraction of files. If you want to insert, you need to learn the CLI commands. It's all in the included PDF file.
EDIT: jPSXdec cannot be used to alter audio/video tracks' length. If you want to do that, you might want to consider other tools, such as psxavenc, but some games have hardcoded file positions that will need to be sorted out by reverse engineering. Good luck.
