Set your Mountaya API keys as environment variables so agents can authenticate:
export MOUNTAYA_PUBLISHABLE_KEY="pk_your_publishable_key"
export MOUNTAYA_SECRET_KEY="sk_your_secret_key"Create keys in the Mountaya app: open your
organization, then its API keys tab.
Enable the scopes your products need: data for the Data API and the MCP server,
tiles for the Tile API, embedding plus tiles for Map Embedding.
- Publishable key (
pk_): identifies your organization. Required for all products. - Secret key (
sk_): creates session tokens for the Data API, and authenticates a non-interactive MCP client. Keep it server-side only.
Without these variables:
- Script-backed skills (
mountaya-auth,mountaya-data-api) exit with a remediation message pointing at the API settings page. - No-script skills (
mountaya-tiles-api,mountaya-embedding,mountaya-mcp) emit example code with apk_your_publishable_keyplaceholder and ask you to configure the key before running it.
mountaya-mcp needs no environment variables at all when an assistant connects
over OAuth.
| Skill | Product | Description |
