Hi, I'm Simon Muranja

I'm a Computer Science student passionate about backend development, Linux systems administration, and network automation. I learn best by building practical tools from the ground up—whether that's configuring self-hosted cloud infrastructure, writing system daemons in Python, or developing lightweight web applications.

I am actively looking for software engineering or DevOps internships and junior roles where I can contribute to real-world production systems, collaborate with experienced engineering teams, and continue sharpening my craft.

🔭 What I'm Working On & Learning

  • Building: Captive portal & network billing integrations (Node.js, FreeRADIUS, MikroTik) and browser-based games (SolitaireCC).
  • Systems & Tooling: Writing Linux CLI utilities, automation scripts, and exploring Rust for low-overhead system tools.
  • Currently Learning: Distributed systems, container orchestration with Docker, and computer science fundamentals (Data Structures, Algorithms, and Operating Systems).
  • Open to: Internships, junior developer roles, mentorship, and open-source collaboration.
