Open PNS is a Project aimed at developing an open platform for buiding sEMG wearables.
OpenBCI and similar platforms have made EEG acquisition accessible to researchers and hobbyists. Purpose-built open hardware for sEMG - multi-channel, dry electrode, wrist-worn - hasn't had the same treatment. Gesture decoding, prosthetic control, and HMI research all depend on quality sEMG acquisition. Most accessible options are either single-channel, gel-dependent, or closed hardware.

Signal interpretation sits somewhere between acquistion and interface. not sure where yet.
Early stage. acquisition hardware in design phase as of June 2026.
