  • Final API & interfaces stability work. Full economic safety comes with 1.1 - Ristretto crypto - Solid networking - Outstanding bugs fixed - Decoupled balances - Integration tests - Enhanced control over wasm/native execution heuristics - Panics/overflows sweeps in runtime

  • Stable API, for 1.0. After this release, downstream projects (polkadot, substrate-node-template, third-party projects) should not need to change any of their source code when updating to other releases in the version 1.x series.

  • - New finality mechanism. - Ability to produce blocks (though not get to finality) requires only a majority of benevolent nodes that are online, even if a majority of staked validators are offline. - Treasury in runtime/governance. - Staking module split - Substrate-demo works and renamed to `substrate` - Various refactorings to make runtime module system more ergonomic

  • A prototype of the Parity Polkadot Substrate. Includes a working PoS blockchain with an on-chain upgradable, Wasm-based state-transition subsystem, networking and a basic in-memory trie. Has a transaction queue and basic RPCs. It doesn't include parachains, slashing, secure randomness, persistent storage.
