Release 0.8.2

Prepare Roamgate 0.8.2 by updating the root, web, server, and Herdr plugin versions together. GitHub will generate release notes from the merged pull requests.

This release includes Ranger task management and close tools, compact conversation navigation, model settings and history improvements, Windows SSH connections, and Bun 1.4.3.

Validation:

• Source preflight at 337212c: bun run precommit passed (3,507 passed, 3 live-environment tests skipped, 0 failed); bun run typecheck:bun, bun run build:site, and bun run audit passed.
• All six supported platform packages built successfully from that source; archives, checksums, update manifests, and binary architectures were inspected. The native macOS ARM64 executable reported the expected version.
• The maintainer confirmed that the requested real-operation smoke test for Ranger closing behavior passed.
• Prepare Release validates the version change with the full precommit gate. PR checks must pass before merging; Publish Release then validates and packages the release commit again.

Windows SSH requires Herdr 0.9.1+ on the remote host. Its remote file, Git, worktree, and agent-history helpers remain unavailable; see the deployment documentation. The existing live test covers macOS ARM64 to Windows 11 ARM64 with Herdr's x64 package; other host combinations and mobile hardware were not re-tested for this release.

Release PR checks passed on 543bcaafeb52887679f6903ed035a06519f7f440: CI, CodeQL, and Dependency Audit.

Published Roamgate v0.8.2 as GitHub Latest from annotated tag v0.8.2 at d1a22cb46ce0c07182ec5473454915f1f7ad251c. Release workflow passed, including the full precommit gate and all six packaging jobs.

Post-publication verification:

• Downloaded all 31 public assets. Verified both versioned/latest archives for all six platforms, all archive checksums, update manifests, embedded VERSION files, executable modes and architectures, and all 31 GitHub SHA-256 asset digests.
• Verified the installer bytes against the release commit and all six Latest update manifests against the published assets. Release notes contain all five changes since v0.8.1 and exclude this version-only PR.
• The downloaded macOS ARM64 executable passed isolated startup and authentication smoke checks: version, invalid credentials, password and leading-zero PIN login, instance isolation, session survival across restart, and cookie revocation on credential changes. All smoke-test processes and temporary instance state were cleaned up.
• Native interaction on other platforms and mobile hardware was not re-tested during publication; the maintainer-provided Ranger close smoke result is recorded above.
