- Hazards ahead are judged by how fast the focus car closes on them, not by a speed profile learnt per track, so a slower class no longer looks like a crash ahead - A car beside us gets the spotter's side before cars that dropped back, and one with no side is no longer drawn on top of our car - The pole line of the pace field is on the left on Long Beach - The oval profile applies to super speedways and short tracks too - A dashed line ties our car to the one we follow on the formation lap Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Cars across the pit wall were pushed a body length away by separateInLaneCars; they now stay where they are. radarDraw is split into types, shared, follow, warnings, hazards and debug modules, wrapDelta is shared, closingSpeed is renamed relativeSpeed, and auto-hide is derived during render. …ithout a spotter Slow cars now need to crawl or still be shedding speed, a sudden drop is a crash only down to a crawl, the tracker starts over when session time runs backwards, cars are spaced apart only while the spotter speaks, and the Slow Cars description no longer promises a learned track profile. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The pole line of a pace field sits on the inside of the first corner. A generator reads it from the track drawings into radarPoleSides.json; sides confirmed by driving (Sebring, Interlagos left; Lime Rock, Watkins Glen right) and the Long Beach name exception are kept when it is regenerated. Tracks with no entry keep the old right-hand default, ovals stay on the left. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

…cally Radar: Flip Pole Side (unbound by default) swaps the pole line side for the current track, stores the player's choice by track id in the app config and reads it every frame, so it applies at once and on later runs. The radar names the side for three seconds. Flipping back to what the table says removes the entry, so only real differences are kept. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
… flags as hints Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…restart Corrections are now kept per situation (race start or restart), with the side the table gave at the time. At startup, after the pit lane report, a changed set is sent once as a radar_pole_side PostHog event (track ids and booleans only), acknowledged before the hash is recorded, honouring the analytics opt-out. The About page says what is sent. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ws a pole side flip In a formation we sit in one column, so the middle of the road lies half a lane to one side. The snapshot now carries that offset (roadLane) from the formation's column count, our column and the pole side in use, and the radar draws the road there instead of always under our car. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The report no longer waits for the next launch: a flip schedules it after a minute of quiet, so a burst of key presses is one report. If the app closes first, the next launch still sends it, since the acknowledged hash is only recorded after delivery. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Right under the page description: the radar may draw the lanes on the wrong side at a start or restart; the key flips the side on this track and remembers it for future races. The same binding is on the Key Bindings page. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ify the generator Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A standing grid is its own situation next to the start and the restart: it has no table, so it is on the left unless the player flipped it, and the correction is stored and reported on its own (grid_left). One pole side now drives every formation's lanes and the road offset. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The spotter's Off no longer separates cars, a repeated session info keeps a flip and its message, the flip key forgets the track on disconnect, the notice does not outlive a rewound replay, a car's recent top speed is a sliding maximum so a steady slowing is seen, the crash drop needs under 8 m/s, the generator keeps catalogue hints when run without one, and a retried pole side report keeps its event id. Clear the flip target when the radar processor deactivates
When no visible renderer subscribes to radar.snapshot (for example, the radar window is minimized), ProcessorHost.reconcileDemand() deactivates RadarProcessor by dropping the instance, and dispatchLifecycle() later calls only instantiated processors. A disconnect or track change while it is inactive therefore never reaches this block, leaving radarPoleSideOverrides targeted at the previous track; if the user bound the global flip key, pressing it can then persist a correction against that stale track. Clear or update the target from an always-on session owner (or on processor deactivation) rather than only here.

Persist pole-side overrides asynchronously
Each flip reaches this writeData callback, and the legacy helper implements it (and readData) with readFileSync/writeFileSync. The keybinding handler runs on Electron's main thread, so a slow user-data volume can stall telemetry/UI and rapid flips rewrite immediately; use the required async, debounced storage path with quit flushing instead.

Exercise the pole-side binding row in Storybook
A repo-wide story search finds no .stories.tsx for this new visual component, and the existing RadarSettings.stories.tsx does not install window.keybindingsBridge; this optional request therefore leaves entry unset and the actual BindingRow is never rendered in Storybook. Add a dedicated story with a mocked bridge so the new control follows the repository's component-story requirement.

Expire or reclassify stale sudden-drop state without treating motion as recovery.
droppedFrom persists until the car reaches 75% of its pre-drop speed. A car that drops from 60 m/s and then holds 35–40 m/s can therefore remain a reachable 'crash' indefinitely.
A moving hold alone is not a safe replacement. For example, a car that drops from 60 to 7 m/s and then holds 40 m/s for five seconds has not reached the defined recovery speed of 45 m/s. Clearing the drop can suppress the crash, and the slow rule does not always take over: at a focus speed of 60 m/s, 40 m/s is not below the 60% slow threshold. After the recent peak expires, steady 35–40 m/s also fails the shedding-speed condition.
Add an explicit bounded transition that preserves the intended crash behavior or reclassifies the car using an established slow condition. Do not clear droppedFrom solely because the car is moving above CRAWL_MS.

Do not report an invalid file as a correction revert.
If an existing file contains invalid JSON and the rename succeeds, this loader returns true with no loaded corrections. Analytics.captureRadarPoleSides then reports an empty snapshot as a revert when it has a prior report hash, and records that new hash. Distinguish a cleanly missing file from an invalid file when gating the analytics report.

Strip user paths from storage failure logs
When an override read or write fails on an analytics-enabled install, Analytics.setupLogTransport() forwards this error-level call to PostHog, and both the explicit filePath() argument and the filesystem error's enumerable path expose the absolute user-data directory (commonly including the OS username); the identical read log at line 75 does this too. Strip the user-data/home prefix and sanitize the error before logging, as required for analytics-bound logs.

Store the report hash without synchronous I/O
When the one-minute post-flip timer reaches captureRadarPoleSides, this call and line 317 go through storage/storage.ts's readFileSync/writeFileSync; that callback executes on Electron's main thread, so a slow or locked user-data volume stalls telemetry/window processing and the checkpoint write bypasses the required debouncing and quit flush. Use dedicated async checkpoint persistence, like the pit-lane report does.

Keep storage independent of processor modules
Importing this storage module follows ../radarPoleSideOverrides into processors/radarPoleSideSettings (including the runtime POLE_SITUATIONS value), so the storage layer now depends transitively on processor code. The repository's layering rules forbid storage-to-processor dependencies; move PoleSideSettings, PoleSituation, and the shared situation list into a storage-neutral type/domain module and inject that contract into the processor.

Description
Radar fixes and a per-track pole side. It is a long branch; the commits are grouped so they can be reviewed in these three parts.
False hazards and wrong sides
radarDrawis split into types, shared, follow, warnings, hazards and debug modules.Pole side per track
tools/generate-radar-pole-sides.tsreads it from the track drawings intoradarPoleSides.json; sides confirmed by driving are kept when it is regenerated. Tracks with no entry keep the old right-hand default; ovals stay on the left.Analytics (needs a decision)
radar_pole_sidePostHog event (track ids and booleans only), after the pit lane report, honouring the opt-out; the About page says what is sent. This part is separable if you do not want it.Review follow-ups
src/types/radarPoleSideSettings.ts, so storage no longer imports fromprocessors/.slowSinceis cleared on off/rejoin/crash, the table side refreshes when the track name changes for the same track id, and the hazard marker follows the shifted road.Architecture impact
src/typesgains the pole side contract and table;src/app/storagegains two async modules; no new frontend-to-src/appimports. No new IPC handlers (the key goes through the existing keybinding action map). No settings shape change, so no migration.RadarProcessoris timed byProcessorHost(radarProcessing, radarPublication). A synthetic run of 63 cars at 25 Hz on Linux measured 0.013 ms average and 0.042 ms p99 per frame. Not measured in iRacing.Testing: unit tests for the hazards, lanes, formation, draw modules, pole side table / overrides / report / report hash storage and the settings key.
tsc --noEmit, lint and the Radar andsrc/appsuites pass exceptirsdk-tape-node.spec.ts(needs the Windows native addon, fails the same without these changes). Pole sides were checked while driving only for the tracks named in the table commits (Sebring, Interlagos, Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Fuji, Long Beach); the rest come from track geometry. The road easing and the review fixes have not been driven in iRacing yet.Screenshots
