uSpace
The term “uSpace” refers to an open system of distributed and heterogeneous subsystems integrated by universAAL IoT. To integrate all the distributed and heterogeneous components / subsystems relevant for a given uSpace into this uSpace, it will be enough to have them connected to an instance of the universAAL middleware within the uSpace, directly or indirectly (i.e., through an adapter). If there are more than one instance of the middleware in a uSpace, these instances must be authorized to build a group and collaborate with each other in order to hide the distribution and heterogeneity of their hosting nodes, as if all uSpace participants were connected to one single instance of the middleware.
uSpaces may exist only virtually or may have a physical embodiment in terms of a physical thing (the "aura" around it) or a location, e.g. a home's uSpace; some of these cases of physical embodiment can be mobile, especially those forming the aura around a physical thing that can move, e.g. the near body uSpace or the uSpace of a car.
