…recorder Build/FormatMapMedia/index.html draws the format map for video and social media: a full-bleed ring with large labels, a slow camera, routes that draw and carry pulses, a number that counts up, and surface pills lit only for the surfaces that run what is on screen. Compositions for 16:9, 1:1, 4:5 and 9:16. It is a pure function of time (window.imoMedia.render(t)) and all vector, so it renders frame by frame at any frame rate and resolution, with --scale=2 giving sharp true 4K. It reads only the generated format_map.json and surfaces.json plus the site font, so rendering needs no website build. Build/FormatMapRecorder serves the page on a loopback port, steps it through time with the shared HtmlTinkerX browser and encodes mp4, h265, av1, webm, mov, gif, webp or apng through ffmpeg. A cut whose scenes have nothing to show fails with the unmatched scenes instead of rendering the wrong thing; a failed cut leaves no frames behind. Build/Record-FormatMap.ps1 regenerates the data and renders every cut; AGENTS.md documents the workflow.

- Around line 207-212: Update the still-capture loop in the code identified by
`still` to save screenshots under `frames` rather than directly to `output`.
After the entire loop succeeds, move the captured PNGs into `output` with
overwrite enabled and call `Report` for each published still.

Adds an opt-in recorder that turns the format catalog into reusable marketing clips, with separate 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 compositions. It builds on the format catalog introduced in merged #3033.
The media page renders a requested timestamp directly from
format_map.json,surfaces.jsonand the site font. Captions, route highlights and surface badges describe the routes on screen, and camera motion blends across scene boundaries. Typography scales with custom cut dimensions, and custom cuts preserve their configured playback speed.-Scale 2doubles the pixel dimensions, including 3840×2160 landscape output. The recorder guide documents the eight encodings, PNG stills, custom recipes, scene grammar and the catalog-to-media update workflow.
Build/FormatMapMedia/social-cuts.jsonprovides 30 fps H.264 exports for X/Twitter (1080×1080), LinkedIn (1080×1350), YouTube (native 3840×2160, with a smaller 1920×1080 alternative) and Shorts (1080×1920). Select that recipe with-CutsFile; useyoutube-landscape-4kfor the preferred YouTube upload. Its scale is included in the recipe. All clips are silent and prepared locally for manual upload.Run
./Build/Record-FormatMap.ps1to regenerate the catalog and record the standard cuts.-Cut,-Formats,-Scaleand-Fpsselect the output;-Still 0,6800captures PNG frames without requiring ffmpeg;-SkipCatalogreuses the current data during design work. The recorder uses the shared HtmlTinkerX browser and an optional local ffmpeg executable for MP4, HEVC, AV1, WebM, ProRes, GIF, animated WebP and APNG. It stays outside normal product installation and the solution. Unknown, duplicate or empty CLI options, unknown or duplicate cut-file fields, and missing required fields fail before recording; invalid scene selections fail before capture. Cut names cannot escape their output directories, codec dimensions are checked after scaling, requested encoders are checked before rendering, and each invocation owns its temporary frames. Still and poster timestamps must fit the cut duration. Clips, posters and stills share one staging path before replacing final output, so rendering or encoding failures preserve previous artifacts. Failed replacements restore previous outputs; if recovery is blocked, the error identifies the retained recovery files. The wrapper preserves working-tree edits.
The clips are generated artifacts and are not committed. Windows rendering and encoding are qualified locally; macOS, Linux, Firefox and Safari rendering remain separate validation boundaries.
