The WeaveWatch Wale

A vast, knuckled range of mountains crowning the very top of the Great Weave, where the fabric of the world is pulled thinnest and coldest. The peaks here are said to be the oldest threads ever spun, so old they have gone brittle, and so the wind through the WeaveWatch Wale carries a sound the Threadlings below call "the Weave's own shiver."

Few settlements cling to these slopes. The air thins not just of breath but of story, and travellers report losing small memories on the climb - a name, a tune, the reason they set out - only to find them again, changed, on the way back down.

It is here, at the range's summit, that the Great Weave frays worst of all. The WeaveWatch Wale is home to the Absurdity Abyss, a Void-pit that swallows sense as readily as substance, and to the ruined Observatory of the Obscure perched above it - once the University of the Unseen's proudest campus, now the lair of Null and the Obscurists, who watch the Weave unravel and call it clarity.
