The Europass CV created with the online editor since 2020 uses a single-column layout. The new europecv2020 class implements it: header with picture, name, personal data and logo; section titles followed by a rule (also added to the PDF bookmarks); \ecventry for dates, place, title and organisation; language self-assessment grid with the legend of the levels; GDPR-style footnote and "Page x / y"; customizable colours and sizes. It accepts the options and commands of europecv (two-column-only ones are ignored), so an existing CV can be converted by changing the class name. The code shared by the two classes (language and encoding options, personal data and cross-referencing commands) moves to europecv-common.def; europecv output is unchanged. Also: - English and Italian templates for the new class - "Other language(s)" and "Levels" labels in en, it, fr, de, es, pt - \ecv@utf no longer overwrites \@tempa - New manual section, README, CHANGELOG; version 2026.10.19 - Tests: language smoke test for both classes, version check of europecv2020.cls; release workflow triggered by tags such as 2026.10.19 (the repository's tag format) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01KE636wEpsNZToHFnXUSZHD

- europecv: the rule that opens the europecv environment could be left alone at the bottom of a page, because \cline allows a page break after it. It is now drawn by \ecv@hrulerow, which looks the same (pixel-identical output) but forbids that break (#39) - The first line of the class, language and example files was "%!TEX ...", which "file" identifies as PostScript; it is now "% !TEX ...", still recognised by TeXShop and TeXstudio (#35) - europecv: the footer used \textrm, which switched to the serif family when \familydefault is sans serif; it now uses \textup (#34) - Manual: how to use XeLaTeX/LuaLaTeX with fontspec, fonts for the Europass look and replacement for the narrow option (#34) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01KE636wEpsNZToHFnXUSZHD

Summary
The CVs created with the Europass online editor since 2020 use a single-column layout, while
europecvimplements the original two-column model. This PR adds a new class,europecv2020, shipped in the sameeuropecvpackage, which implements the 2020 layout:|(empty fields are omitted), Europass logo on the right;\ecvcontact{label}{value}adds extra contacts (e.g. LinkedIn).\ecventry{dates}{place}{title}{organisation}, followed by normal text or lists.\ecvAccentColor(default: the blue of the EU flag),\ecvDateColor,\ecvPhotoWidth,\ecvLogoWidth,\ecvLanguageWidth; optionsnologo, serif, nogeometry.Converting an existing CV usually only needs
\documentclass{europecv}→\documentclass{europecv2020}: the options and commands ofeuropecvare accepted (those that only make sense in the two-column layout are ignored). Code that uses the table directly (&,\tabularnewline) must be adapted.Other changes
europecv-common.def. The output ofeuropecvis unchanged (the text of the manual is identical apart from the date).templates/cv_template_2020_en.texandtemplates/cv_template_2020_it.tex, with their PDFs.\ecv@utfno longer overwrites the scratch macro\@tempa.2026.10.19(the repository's tag format, withoutv).Fixes for other open issues (fb8a5a8)

The layout was built from the public description of the 2020 Europass CV, without access to the Word model linked in #37, so it is an approximation. @exzombie and @DavideSecco, since you asked for an up-to-date template in #37, could you try it and tell us what should look different from the CV produced by the Europass editor (spacing, colours, header, language grid, missing sections or labels)? The quickest way is to compile
templates/cv_template_2020_en.texfrom this branch, or to change the class of your current CV toeuropecv2020.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
