ros_typedb is a ROS 2 Humble workspace repository containing three main packages: ros_typedb (core ament_python node/runtime), ros_typedb_msgs (ament_cmake message/service interfaces), and ros_typedb_tools (Python CLI tools for TypeDB schema/rule diagrams and stress tooling). The repo also contains docs under docs/source and agent planning notes under docs-agents. Target platform is Ubuntu 22.04, ROS Humble, and TypeDB 2.x.

Python code follows ROS 2 ament_flake8 and ament_pep257 checks. Use 4-space indentation, snake_case for modules/functions, PascalCase for classes, descriptive ROS parameter names, and keep console entry point names aligned with setup.py. Preserve the package layout and avoid mixing generated ROS interfaces with Python runtime modules. Prefer Serena symbolic navigation for non-trivial Python code exploration and keep edits scoped to the requested package/behavior.

Run from the ROS workspace root unless noted:

```bash
source /opt/ros/humble/setup.bash
rosdep install --from-paths src --ignore-src -r -y
colcon build --symlink-install
source install/setup.bash
colcon test --event-handlers console_cohesion+ --packages-up-to ros_typedb
colcon test --event-handlers console_cohesion+ --packages-select ros_typedb_tools
```

Run core node:
```bash
ros2 run ros_typedb ros_typedb_interface -p schema_path:=<schema> -p data_path:=<data>
```

Build docs from docs/ with `make html`. Prefer `rg`/`rg --files` for repository search. In this environment, use the running `ros_typedb` container for ROS/TypeDB-dependent commands when needed.

Before finishing code changes, run focused tests for the changed package where possible, plus targeted lint if full colcon test is known to include unrelated failures. For ros_typedb_tools stress tooling, useful checks include `python3 -m pytest -q ros_typedb_tools/test/test_ros_typedb_stress_experiment.py`, targeted `flake8` on changed files, `colcon build --symlink-install --packages-select ros_typedb_tools`, and `ros2 run ros_typedb_tools ros_typedb_stress_experiment --help`. Report any tests not run or failures that are unrelated to the change.
